What Is L-Carnosine?
L-carnosine is naturally found in the brain, skeletal muscles, heart, and other innervated tissues and organs. It is made up of two amino acids, histidine and beta alanine. L-carnosine is also found in various food sources, primarily meat, which is why vegetarians and vegans tend to have lower levels of carnosine.
However, even in those with normal levels, carnosine supplementation may help to support brain health and longevity.
